Longing for the day ...

Found me a producer ... and got the Dad Joke Blues

Recorded the Dad Joke Blues for a fun home project - two versions. Gumby and Mike came over a while back and we jammed on it for an afternoon and recorded some stuff. One version is electric - that's how I heard the song. The second is acoustic and much jazzier - that was Mike's (guitarist) idea. We loved it, so I finished it after Mike left.

Thought I'd make a little project about mental health and see if I can get any kind of attention to the cause. So the song will be released in several varieties - most notably with the joke I recorded removed to people can tell their own jokes in that gap.

Anyhoo, needed someone to mix it professionally, so I caught up with my mate James North, who's very good at this sort of thing. Chatting away to James as we're finishing up and he starts telling me about how he does things with choirs and singers, and players all over the world! Makes lots of music that is recorded in separate studios by awesome session players, then mmixed by James at his place ... very cool.

So I tell him about my multi-album project and he's very keen. Reckons he can do everything needed and would love be the producer/arranger for the final album concept.

So, one more piece of the puzzle falls into place ... still no idea how I'm gonna afford this ... but at least I can now get an estimate of what it might cost!
