Congratulations, Your Majesty

Queen Elizabeth II has been in that position for 55 years today. I reckon 55 years in any position is a noteworthy acheivement and she should be given full credit for eaching the milestone. She has aquitted herself with integrity and grace in the most difficult of times.

But I still don't think she should be Queen of Australia. Neither does she ...

On her 21st birthday in 1947, Elizabeth solemnly declared "... that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great Commonwealth family to which we all belong."

For over half a century, Her Majesty has never wavered from that commitment. She reigns with total integrity, and lives with deep faith in Christ as the true King of kings -- if only all leaders so conducted themselves!

God save our gracious Queen!
