December 3, 2004Unplugged CD Launch - Australian versionFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brisbane Celtic survivors the last band standing. Brisbane, Australia. 2 December 2004. Bun' Ber E Celtic Bands will launch their latest CD release, Unplugged, at Dicey Reilly's, Garden City, on Sunday, 12 December 2004 at 9am. Unplugged features the boys in a high-energy stand-and-deliver performance - just like they're playing in your lounge room. The album was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered in home studios in Brisbane, and features 10 traditional tracks given the high-energy Bun' Ber E treatment, plus an irreverent original song "Heart's With You". Band leader Malcolm Ketchion said the latest release was the result of hard work, dedication and professionalism in a field dominated by people chasing a fast buck. "We started in 1997, just before Riverdance made the Irish thing huge," he said, "and there were heaps of bands and venues that leapt onto that bandwagon." "Seven years later, most of those venues are closed and we're the only Brisbane band doing anything interesting with traditional Celtic music." "We kept true to our calling and stayed professional. We had good support from the local Celtic community and radio programs and we're moving ahead on our own now." Like its predecessor, Ceilidh, Unplugged will be released to a global audience via web-based record company CDBaby and pay-per-song distributors like Apple iTunes, which has proved a great success for Bun' Ber E. The tracks can be sampled via www.bunbere.com and the album can be downloaded or ordered from that site. Hard copies can be ordered via that site or bought from the band's shows.
